Regular listeners to “Drive Time Live – The Mills Crenshaw Show,” last Thursday, were left wondering, “Where’s Mills?” The iconic talk show host was nowhere to be found on Utah’s airways. No explanation, no discussion, no Mills.
Had he been abducted by aliens? Did a team of Ninjas finally get him? Silence.
Then, from deep within the inner sanctum of K-TALK radio, a source that would only speak on condition of anonymity revealed the grisly story. It was an assassination … well, sort of.
Lately, there had been a lot of talk about being prepared for any emergency. Callers had asked Mills to look into non-electric washing devices. On Wednesday, he responded by talking about the Yirego, Drumi, a foot peddle operated gizmo out of Canada. To the best of his knowledge, he said, it was not available for sale in the US; but listeners could contact the company and urge them to make it available in Utah (a third world country hidden away in the mountains of the USA).
The next day, according to the anonymous source, Crenshaw was braced by management with the demand that he pay $300 for the “infomercial” he had done on the Yirego.
“It wasn’t an infomercial,” Crenshaw is reported to have erupted, “the thing isn’t even for sale here!”
“Pay and promise never to do it again,” was the alleged response.
Rumor has it that, “Drive Time Live – The Mills Crenshaw Show,” will begin Monday, April 8th from 4:00 pm ‘til 7:00 pm on KLO Radio, AM 1430 and continue in that slot Monday through Fridays every week.
Rumors of Mills assassination were slightly exaggerated.
